    Anime Fans Flock to the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention Center for Animate Florida
    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
    August 29, 2016 (Fort Lauderdale, FL) — Animate Florida, Florida’s largest Anime convention, returns September 16th-18th, 2016 to its new home at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention Center. Fans will spend three days celebrating Anime, Animation, Cosplay, Video Games, and Comic Books with some of the biggest names in the animation and anime industries.
    Fans will be able to meet some of their favorite voice actors and enjoy more than 350 hours of programming featuring celebrity Q&As, fan panels, costume contests, entertainment shows, and late night parties. 
    Animate Florida will take up Hall’s A, B, and C, the Floridian Ballroom, and multiple rooms at The Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention Center, allowing the show to double in size from previous years at the Miami Airport Convention Center. 
    The Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention Center provides many new opportunities for cosplayers to showcase their costumes. Many meetups are being planned for photo shoots in front of the fountain, under the bridge, and around the waterfront area. 
    “It’s exciting to bring the convention to Fort Lauderdale, which gives us the opportunity to grow the event. We have an amazing guest line up, and I can’t wait to see some of the phenomenal costumes our attendees have been working on in preparation for the con.” said Mike Broder, President of Super Conventions, the parent company of Animate Florida.

    • Over 200,000 square feet of convention space featuring 350 booths and tables with vendors, celebrity guests, artists, filmmakers, and exhibits. Two stages of entertainment, over 10,000 square feet of video games, plus a dozen rooms for panels, tabletop gaming and screenings.
    About the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention Center
    The Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention Center is South Florida’s premiere waterfront conference facility and is located within walking distance of the best hotels, restaurants and beaches. Entry into the Fort Lauderdale Convention Center from 17th Street is no longer subject to a Port Security Check. The Port Security Checkpoint along Eisenhower Blvd has been pushed back and is now located after the entrance to the Convention Center garage.

    Animate Florida is produced by Super Conventions, the team that also organizes Florida Supercon and Paradise City Comic Con. The event takes place over 3 days, and it is expected to draw 12,000 attendees.
