• Hey, It's That Voice! #13: Atticus Shaffer

Hey all! Time for that article where you get to see other roles that the voice actors of Steven Universe have done! This time, we are going to start focusing on the Fryman family. We will look at one of Steven's best friends in Beach City, Peedee Fryman!

A very sensible and responsible boy, Peedee actually seems to be quite the opposite of the fun and carefree Steven. He's level headed, hard working, and quite possibly a little too-dedicated to the job at Beach Citywalk Fries. But beyond just Peedee's character, who supplies his voice? Well, the voice younger Fryman boy and Steven's good buddy is Atticus Shaffer!

It's a full time job being Steven's friend.
Atticus Shaffer was born June 19, 1998 in Santa Clarita, California. He was born with osteogenesis imperfect, a genetic disorder that affects the bones. He has type I, which causes his fragile bones. But in part of this disorder, it allows Shaffer to play characters much younger than he is. However, he does require a body double for scenes in which he may get injured. His first role was a single appearance on The Class. He continued to get roles in other projects such as Days Of Our Lives, Human Giant, Carpoolers, Leaving BarstowAn American Carol, Out Of Jimmy's Head, My Name Is Earl, The Unborn, Opposite Day, and Hancock.

Shaffer had the honor of waking up the Fresh Prince in the film Hancock.

However, Shaffer's most famous role, which he still has, is as Brick Heck in ABC sitcom The Middle.

Left to right: Neil Flynn, Patricia Heaton, Charlie McDermott, Eden Sher, and Shaffer.
Other roles that Shaffer has had includes spots on I'm In The Band, The Penguins of Madagascar, Shake It Up, ThunderCats, See Dad Run, Super Buddies, and the radio program Adventures In Odyssey. But he has some more significant roles that might be recognizable my some folks, such as Albert Glass in Fish Hooks, Seabass in Clarence, and Ono in The Lion Guard.

Left to right: Albert Glass in Fish Hooks, Seabass in Clarence, and Ono in The Lion Guard.

And lastly, you may remember Shaffer's voice as Edgar Gore from the 2012 remake of Tim Burton's Frankenweenie.

You have no idea how jealous I am of him right now.

And that will be it for this edition of "Hey, It's That Voice!" Stay tuned for the next installment where we will look at Peedee's brother!
