We've spent a significant amount of airtime getting to know the citizens of Beach City. Sure, they seem to be an important part of Steven's life, but they're just humans. They aren't out fighting gem monster. Er, wait, Sadie actually did do that. But I mean, come on, when Peridot came down in the hand ship, the citizens didn't stand a chance. So were all the slice of life episodes with the people of Beach City just setting us up for more heartbreak?
