• Hey, It's That Voice! #26: AJ Michalka

Hello and welcome back to that reoccurring article that you see every Sunday, "Hey, It's That Voice!" Today, we will look at what happens with the Jam Buds come together; today, we will look at Stevonnie!

Stevonnie is awesome, simple as that. Not only are they an epic fusion of Steven and Connie, but Stevonnie is an amazing fighter, an amazing driver, and also an amazing dancer (well, enough of a dancer to surprise everyone at the rave). Easily, they became a fan favorite, and it's easy to understand since just about everyone has gone through the feelings Stevonnie had when they first fused (and Rebecca Sugar's explanation of Stevonnie shows it even more). But who voices this human-gem fusion? Why, that would be AJ Michalka!

I was hoping for this scene the second I saw Stevonnie.

Born Amanda Joy Michalka in Torrance, California on April 10, 1991, AJ Michalka started playing music at a young age with piano at age six and guitar since her teens. In 2004, along with her older sister Aly Michalka, the duo formed the pop-rock musical duo Aly & AJ. They released their first album 2005 Into The Rush, which was featured the single "No One" that was featured in the Disney film Ice Princess. The album was well-received by critics.

The album went on to be one of the best selling albums of 2006.

The next album from the duo was the Christmas-themed album Acoustic Hearts of Winter. Their third album, Insomniatic, would bring forth two singles. The first one was "Potential Breakup Song", the duo's highest charting single, and the second was "Like Whoa", which has become a fan favorite.

In 2009, Aly & AJ announced that they have changed their duo name to 78violet and, the next year, they announced they left Disney-owned Hollywood Records. Under the new name, they duo contributed to the soundtrack of Hellcats, that Aly Michalka starts in. After numerous delays, 78violet did release a single intended for their upcoming album in 2013, "Hothouse". No album has been released since then. However, the sisters have announced that they have gone back to the moniker of Aly & AJ and as of, April 2016, working on their new album.

As for AJ's acting career, started acting on the stage at the age of five, mostly in church productions and then on to musical productions in school. She made her major small screen debut with the Disney Channel Original Movie Cow Belles. Michalka also had minor appearances in Oliver Beene, Six Feet Under, The Guardian, General Hospital, and Punk'd. In 2007, both Michalka sisters were featured in two MTV specials, Aly & AJ: Sister Act and Super Sweet 16: The Movie

In 2009, Michalka had her silver screen debut in the Peter Jackson film The Lovely Bones. She would go on to star in minor roles in Secretariat and Super 8. Michalka's first starring role film was in the 2013 film Grace Unplugged, in which she also provided some of the music. That same year, Michalka starred in Angels in Stardust.

As for her recent television roles, AJ Michalka has starred with her sister on The CW's Hellcats. She has also starred in more made-for-television films, including Expecting Amish and the film adaptation of Salem Falls. AJ has had two guest starring appearances in Silicon Valley and Motive. Today, Michalka is part of the main cast of ABC's The Goldbergs, where she is Lainey Lewis.

And, believe it or not, AJ Michalka is going to be at Beach City Con for it's very first year!

And that will do it for this edition of "Hey, It's That Voice!" Join us next time where we will look at the voice of my favorite fusion!
