• Hey, It's That Voice! #48: Mason Cook


    Hello and welcome back to that article that lets to take a peek at the voices behind all the characters in Steven Universe! It's "Hey, It's That Voice!" Today, we will take a peek at a younger version of a now changed up character: let's take a look at the voice of young Lars!



    To say that Lars has grown up would be an understatement. The guy has gone from a kid who was too embarrassed to stay friends with Ronaldo, to wanting to hang with the cool kids, to....well, I'm sure you've seen the 'Wanted' special. Maybe we will get another peek into Lars' past self? I would like to see young Lars again personally. And who voice's this version of Lars? Why, that would be Mason Cook!

    Born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on July 25, 2000, Mason Cook started his acting career with an  in 2008 appearance in the sitcom According to Jim. He would also guest star in an episode of Grey's Anatomy, and also star as a reoccuring character in The Middle as the best friend of a Brian Heck (who is also played by a Steven Universe actor).

    In 2011, Cook would star in the film Spy Kids: All the Time in the World as Cecil Wilson. He would also have appearances in Raising Hope, Criminal Minds, Victorious, Treasure Buddies, The Cleveland Show, Mockingbird Lane, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, The Lone Ranger, R. L. Stine's The Haunting Hour: The Series, If There Be Thorns, and Grimm. Cook also had a reoccurring role in the drama Legends.


    Dylan DiMeo (Kyla Kenedy), Ray DiMeo (Cook), and JJ DiMeo (Micah Fowler) in ABC's Speechless.

    Currently, Cook stars in the ABC sitcom Speechless. The show has been well-received by fans and critics alike and renewed for a second season.
