SketchedAtrocities is working on a full length 11 minute fan episode of Steven Universe. This is one of the largest fan projects I've seen to date! A 4 minute test footage video was just released, and it looks amazing so far! The concept is basically an AU where the Homeworld Gems are Steven's maternal figures, rather than the Crystal Gems. Also, SketchedAtrocites is looking for some voice actors to fill in roles in the episode! Steven and Jasper are currently open, and you can find a link to the audition guide in the description of the video, or there's also a link below. A short recap about 'The Answer'. Interesting that fans were pretty spot on when the theorized Homeworld had a gem caste system. It's pretty cool how much the fandom gets right when trying to predict the show. Of course, none of us were ready for cotton candy hair Garnet, but that's what's also so cool - we can try and predict so much, but the show will still surprise us on a lot of things.

This Steven bomb felt more jam packed with history and backstory than any before it. It was certainly worth the wait during the holiday hiatus. Not only that, but it seemed to not so subtly highlight some common real world problems, such as being demeaned for wanting to be with the "wrong' type of person, as well as consent and the importance of accepting that no means no - even if a yes came first. I love this quote from the below article: "Sapphire and Garnet try to comprehend why their fusion felt so natural and right despite going against everything their society has ever taught them."
