• Nightly Discussion #418

Aww yeah! We waited so long! Made so much fan art! And it finally happened! Stevonnie riding Lion into battle! I'm glad that Stevonnie is popping up more often. It's really cool to see Steven and Connie working as a team, as well as Emerald's personal favorite non-binary character! (And, well, the only canonically confirmed nb character in SU.) What do you hope Stevonnie does next time they show up?

This is some really REALLY spoilery stuff. Considering the episodes aren't airing until next week, better hope you don't come across these untagged.

  • Bismuth - Episode Discussion/Streams

Bismuth is a chemical element with the symbol Bi and the atomic number 83. Bismuth, a pentavalent post-transition metal and one of the pnictogens, chemically resembles its lighter homologs arsenic and antimony. Elemental bismuth may occur naturally, although its sulfide and oxide form important commercial ores. The free element is 86% as dense as lead. It is a brittle metal with a silvery white color when freshly produced, but is often seen in air with a pink tinge owing to surface oxidation. Bismuth is the most naturally diamagnetic element, and has one of the lowest values of thermal conductivity among metals.

That's from Wikipedia. The only thing I know about Bismuth is that it isn't a gem, so I have no idea what this episode could be about.

Let's find out at 7:00 ET/PT on Cartoon Network. Clear your schedules, because this episode is double-length! If you don't have the time, we've got streams and downloads after the break.
  • Episode Followup: Steven vs. Amethyst

Ho boy, this week has been something. I can't believe this is leading up to a half hour special 100th episode.  HOW WILL WE SURVIVE? Well, time to dive in to 'Steven vs. Amethyst'!

  • Amber Rogers on Posing For Dialogue

Amber Rogers is a storyboard revisionist on Steven Universe. She often helps out with things like dialogue poses, for when characters are speaking. She made up a real neat post with a bunch of storyboards and an explanation of some of the stuff a storyboard revisionist does! Be sure to check out the link below for all the awesomeness!

As a revisionist, the thing i enjoy the most is posing for dialogue. boards are drawn before any audio is recorded, and often one drawing will have a whole paragraph of dialogue, or a line read will be so big/specifically delivered that the board needs a lil more spice added to it. and when that happens (which is pretty often!) either Kat, Joe, Rebecca or I (And sometimes Ben!!!) will pose for dialogue.
Being a revisionist is very rewarding in the sense that you get to take something that’s amazing and help bring it to the next level by pouring yourself into it and filling all the gaps… I’m always very inspired by the fantastic team of boarders and Rebecca, Joe and Kat’s work- I try my best to match their efforts and language. It’s very challenging sometimes but it’s always worth it.

  • Fan Theory: Corrupted Gems and How to Save Them

The more we learn about corrupted gems, the more questions we have! Well, actually, Monster Reunion confirmed some new information we didn't know before. So can Steven save the corrupted gems?

  • Story: The Voices Inside

    [Sad]

    Author: BetterThanCoffee
Description: Steven has been feeling insecure, knowing that he could never compare to his mother. Sometimes, he thinks that no matter how much the gems love him, they will always love Rose more. He always pushed those thoughts to the side, until one day, they bubble over. (Has a happy ending!)
