SDCC news don't stop! During the Steven Universe panel today, Rebecca Sugar revealed to the crowd that she identifies as bisexual. The crowd responded with cheers and a standing ovation! When Sugar spoke during the panel, the entire room was silent, the crowd hanging on her every word. In this sea of heterosexual cartoons, Steven Universe stands out. But this show wouldn't exist without the amazing Rebecca Sugar! As episodes progress, there is more and more confirmation that there are LGBTQ+ characters present. Steven Universe is raw and real, and it's exactly what kids need to see.
These things have so much to do with who you are, and there’s this idea that these are themes that should not be shared with kids, but everyone shares stories about love and attraction with kids. So many stories for kids are about love, and it really makes a difference to hear stories about how someone like you can be loved and if you don’t hear those stories it will change who you are. It’s very important to me that we speak to kids about consent and we speak to kids about identity and that we speak to kids about so much. I want to feel like I exist and I want everyone else who wants to feel that way to feel that way too.

I got so excited about all the SDCC stuff today that I forgot to schedule the discussion on time! So many things to talk about tonight! Episodes are done for the week, so many cool things happened at SDCC. Wowzas!

The race is on! Who will emerge victorious? Let's take a look at the competitors. In no particular order, first we have Sean Boswell in the 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX. Next is Han Seoul-Oh in his 1997 Mazda RX-7 VeilSide Fortune. Then there's Greg Universe in his heavily customized 1977 Dodge Tradesman. Favored to win are Garnet and Amethyst, riding on Amethyst shape-shifted into a 1991 Power Wheels Porsche 911 Turbo. Finally, we have Steven Universe and Connie Maheswaran riding a souped up custom ???? Magical Lion.

Here it is, folks! The Steven Universe panel from San Diego Comic Con! There was so so much packed into this panel, it must have been amazing to be there for it!
Part 1 shows the musical part of the panel, where Aivi & Surasshu performed songs from Mr. Greg, Stronger Than You, and so much more!
Part 2 is more music, including Rebecca Sugar singing Love Like You, the cast performing We Are the Crystal Gems, Q&A with Rebecca and the rest of the cast, and Rebecca performing an unaired upcoming song! (So please, be wary of spoilers!)

So Emerald was hoping to have the SDCC panel uploaded by now but it's taking a lot longer than she thought, maybe because it's an hour and a half in total. But, here's something to tide your over!

Hey party people! The New Lars episode followup will be a little delayed, for a couple of reasons. One, Emerald's computer is still having some issues and her net was out last night so she wasn't able to do it. Secondly, there's just too dang much SDCC stuff coming up today that we'd rather show you. Look for the followup this weekend!
