SU fans love to see where the show gets it's inspiration. A lot of the Crewniverse, in fact probably all of the Crewniverse, grew up watching 80's and 90's cartoons and Anime. So it's no wonder that there are some neat parallels and inspired scenes in the show. SU, despite being a recently created show, has a lot of nostalgia attached to it - it's very reminiscent of classic 90's Cartoon Network. Check out some cool comparisons between Pearl and Sokka from Avatar the Last Airbender, below the break!

July 8-10, Zach Callison and Oliva Olson will be at Anime Midwest! Zach Callison is the voice of Steven Universe himself! Oliva Olson is best known for her role as Marceline the Vampire Queen on Adventure Time, but she also lends her voice to the song Haven't You Noticed (I'm a Star) in the episode 'Sadie's Song'. Get your pass here, and meet them both!

There are many SU fans who also have a love for the musical Hamilton, so it's no surprise that an awesome parody project has popped up. The songs below are just demos, but the creator, Jake Neutron, is looking for fandom voice actors to fill in the roles. So much about the gem war still remains a mystery. How did gems get corrupted? How did the Crystal Gems not know the cluster was being made? Why did some gems use a projected weapon, while others used physical weapons? Hopefully these questions will be revealed on the show, but for now, fans are freely speculating!
