Doug Walker considers this episode mostly pointless. However, I think we got a lot of great development for the cool kids. Even though we didn't learn a lot about Homeworld or any backstory of the Crystal Gems, the character development of the people of Beach City IS important. We got the big hint that Yellowtail was Sour Cream's dad, but I guess if you're only watching the show for Steven and the Crystal Gems, an episode about the Beach City population isn't exactly going to be exciting.
