Hello and welcome back to the first edition of "Hey, It's That Voice!" of 2017! In this edition of the article, we are looking at the other half of the power couple, namely Sapphire!
Sapphire is a unique gem in that we still don't know a lot about her, and only a little about her past. Does she have a weapon? Is there more to her about her time serving under Blue Diamond? Is she a steadfast with her view of hard determination (the idea that freewill is just an illusion), or does she believe something more now? Of course, we may not know these answers for quite some time. But until we get those answers, we should look at the voice behind this blue gem. And who provides the voice of this gem with foresight? Why, that would be Erica Luttrell!
I seriously can watch this for hours. |
Erica Luttrell was born Toronto, Ontario, Canada on March 20, 1982 to an American father and a Tanzanian mother. The youngest of four girls, Erica began her acting career at the age of two for Pampers and Cadillac commercials. Her sister Rachel Luttrell is also an actress, known for her work on Stargate Atlantis.
As for Erica herself, her first major role was a series regular on Shining Time Station, where she started opposite of comedian George Carlin. Another notable role she had was as Keesha Franklin in The Magic School Bus. Luttrell had the main role of Emilie in The New Ghostwriter Mysteries. In 2004, Luttrell voiced Candy in the short-lived (and in my opinion, underrated) Disney cartoon Dave The Barbarian. Other television roles Luttrell had include Bookmice, Goosebumps, The Jersey, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, As Told By Ginger, Random! Cartoons, Lost Girl, Avengers Assemble, The Lion Guard, Mighty Magiswords, and Arrow. She also had some film appearances, such as Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves and JLA Adventures: Lost In Time.

You might be surprised to learn that Luttrell actually has done more voice acting, most notably for video games. She has lent her voice to Dragon Age: Origins, Diablo III, Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham as Giganta and Cheetah, Lego Jurassic World, Fallout 4 as Darla, Fahrenheit, and Kendra, Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness as Anne, and the lead role of Dishonored 2 as Emily Kaldwin.

And that will do it for this edition of "Hey, It's That Voice!" Join me next time when we start looking at some of the fusions!
