Hello and welcome back to "Hey, It's That Voice!", where we look at the voices behind any and all characters in the show! Today, we will be looking at a character that only shows up once, but their voice actor still has been in Steven Universe more than you might think. We will be looking at Ricky the employee from Le Hotel!
Ricky only shows up for "Mr. Greg", but he does make a fun impression. Heck, he even joins in with the song. However, his voice actor, Eric Bauza, has appeared in another episode (an infamous one), "Say Uncle" as the announcer and reprising his role as Bellybag. But what other roles has Eric Bauza have over the years? Well, let's take a look!
"Hey shake a leg,/It's Mr. Greg!" |
Eric Bauza was born in Toronto, Ontario on December 7, 1979. From 1994 to 1997, he attended Blessed Cardinal Newman Catholic High School in Scarborough, Ontario. Even then it was obvious that Bauza was interested in the creative and comedic arts.
Around 2000, Bauza moved out to Hollywood to get started on a career in animation. He first started working on The Ripping Friends and the Ren & Stimpy "Adult Party Cartoon", where he both supplied voices, including filling in as Stimpy in the place of Billy West. His first major and well-known role was Rodolfo Rivera, a.k.a. White Pantera, in El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera.

Bauza also provided the voice of Destro, as well as some other characters, in G.I. Joe: Resolute. He also provided the voice of the villain Lord Stingray in the Adult Swim cartoon Superjail!. He is also provided the most recent voice of Marvin The Martian, starting with The Looney Tunes Show.

In 2013, Bauza joined the cast of Xiaolin Chronicles, voicing the Xiaolin Dragon of Wind, Raimundo Pedrosa (taking over for Tom Kenny). He also took over voicing other characters in the show such as Jack Spicer, Pandabubba, and the Warden.

Finally, the other major role that Bauza is known for is voicing Amadeus Cho in Ultimate Spider-Man. Eventually, Cho would become the Iron Spider with Parker's blessing. Bauza would also voice Michael Tan (a.k.a. Swarm) and Arcade.
