• Hey, It's That Voice! #51: Mike Krol

Hello and welcome back to that article that takes a peek at the voices behind all those lovable (and even the ones that are pretty hard to love) characters in Steven Universe! It's time for "Hey, It's That Voice!" yet again! Today, we are going to look at the voice of that amazing rocker, Mike Krol!

Steven Universe did something I wasn't expecting, using licensed music in the show. This was a big surprise given how Rebecca Sugar has written such wonderful music for the show. But thanks to storyboard artist Ben Levin, Mike Krol got to lend his voice, music, and image in the episode "Last One Out of Beach City". In fact, we brought up Mike Krol right after he appeared in the episode.

Not a whole lot is publicly known about Mike Krol before his entry into music. He is often described as an "L.A.-via-NYC-via-Wisconsin garage-punk outsider" and is extremely "anti-everything", but that is what the fans love about him.

Mike Krol has released three albums, 'I Hate Jazz', 'Trust Fund', and 'Turkey'. Two of his songs from 'I Hate Jazz' were featured "Last One Out of Beach City" (these two songs were "Like A Star" and "Fifteen Minutes".)

You can follow Mike Krol on his Facebook, his Twitter, his Bandcamp, and his Instagram.

And that will do it for this edition of "Hey, It's That Voice!" Join me next week for our first anniversary post with one of my favorite voice artists featured in the show!
