We've seen Amethyst and Lapis be cracked and then healed, so seemingly damaging a gem won't kill them for good. However, it's seems to be the general consensus that if a gem is shattered, that's it. The gem can't be fixed, and can't regenerate its original form. Check out the theory below, offering theories about if and why a gem might be shattered in the show.
The Shadowing Threat of Yellow Diamond is looming over the Story.
We have stated in both Our Sadie’s Song Theory as well in Our Time Skip Theory that it is very possible that we will see an invasion from Homeworld.
But a new fear is rising…. is someone going to Die?
In many past series we have seen characters die from confrontation of the real bad guy. Dragon Ball Z (name a character), Trigun (Wolfwood), even Marvel and DC Comics on many occasions. It is a plot device to show a) Evil person is very, very evil; and b) To give the protagonists reason to stop them.
We believe that Yellow Diamond and her forces will be so overwheming that at least one of the gems we know will be shattered and destroyed. (IE: DIE!!!)
Lets look at the possible suspects
Crystal Gems
1)Amethyst
So far it is noted that Amethyst is not up to par with home world standards, Jasper call her an ‘over cooked runt’ in ‘The Return’, and Peridot explains how she is different compared to the rest of her Gem Class in ‘Too Far’.
Scenario:
Yellow Diamond makes mention of how defective Amethyst is, Amethyst tries to fight back only to be thrown on the ground. Yellow Diamond, with a foot on Amethyst to keep her in place and keep her in her place says how gems like her are not tolerated before stabbing her Claymore like sword through Amethyst’s Gem.
2) Pearl
In our Pearl’s a gift theory, we look into the possibility that Pearl, a member of a made to order class of subservient Gems, as a gift to Rose from one of the other members of the ‘Diamond Authority’, most likely Yellow Diamond.
Even if this theory is false, Pearl was the most loyal to Rose, which may leave a sour impression on Yellow Diamond.
Scenario
After the invasion of Earth, Yellow diamond ill meet with Pearl, holding her by her head in her hand held high. She will state how Pearls are only useful to their master, and with Her master (Rose) Gone, she is useless, then Crushing Pearl in her hand.
End 1: Pearl is shattered
End 2: Yellow Diamond holds the now gem form Pearl and take it with her. (Stay tuned to the page for new theory)
3) Garnet (Ruby or Sapphire)
Garnet will be the first to defend her friends and family. This, along with Homeworld’s views on Fusion will lead to an altercasion with Yellow Diamond.
Sceneario
Garnet will try and fight, only to be out matched by Yellow Diamond causing her to defuse
-End 1: Ruby: After defusion, Ruby will try and fight Yellow Diamond to no avail, Yellow Diamond will say something insulting her relationship with Sapphire and saying the only way to make sure they dont fuse will be if theres only one as she cuts Ruby with her sword forcing her to poof and as her gem hits the ground, Yellow Diamond smashes it with her sword.
-End 2:Sapphire: After defusion, Yellow diamond recognizes Sapphire as a Future Seer class of gem. Seeing this explains to her how the Gems were able to survive as long as they did. Seeing her as a threat yellow Diamond will say something to insult her relationship with Ruby before using her sword to poof her. As her gem hits the ground Yellow Diamond smashes it with her sword.
-End 3: Both: After Defusion, both Ruby and Sapphire Stand together, as Ruby and Sapphire hold hands Yellow Diamond insults their relationship and fusion. She then Swing her sword slashing through both Ruby and Sapphires gems in their held hands in one motion.
The possible victim may not be a Crystal Gem, as ‘Homeworld Gems’ Peridot, Lapis and Jasper may very well meet their end by their benevolent leader.
We have stated in our New Crystal Gems Theory the possibility of the inclusion of these Gems to the Crystal Gem Team in the future. This may play a part if indeed one or all join the Gems.
4) Peridot
Perhaps the Homeworld Gem with the most Development with the Crystal Gems, Peridot may form a connection with All or some of the CG (if not, at least with Amethyst says the SU). If this is the Case, Peridot will see the former enemies and their world differently before the invasion.
Scenario:
Yellow Diamond will approach Peridot, and question her on her Failure to report her finding of Earth. Peridot will try and explain to no avail as excuses are not tolerated. Yellow Diamond will say that this planet is doomed as well as the Crystal Gems. Peridot will yell in a fit of anger how the Gems are not bad, and how the planet is shold be left alone. This will cause issues with Yellow Diamond as she will pickup peridot by her head and as she tightens her grip and we see Peridot’s visor start to crack she will crush ther Peridot to pieces in her hand.
5) Lapis Lazuli
The Tragic Story of Lapis will be at a end
Scenario:
Yellow Diamond will approach her and question how she can betray homeworld and Yellow Diamond’s generosity after welcoming her back. Lapis will state how Homeworld has changed and how the only bond she has is with her and Steven, the only known character to be her friend. With this, Yellow Diamond will slice Lapis in half, cutting through her Gem.
6) Jasper
At the moment the least likely since her involvement with the Gems is little to none. We have some theories (New Tag Team Theory and also in our Greg and Jasper Theory) that may lead to her befriending the Gems.
Scenario:
End 1: Jasper Approaches Yellow Diamond, grateful that she is here to finish off the Gems. Yellow Diamond cuts her speech short as she stabs her sword through Jasper Gem Nose Shattering it, only stating that Failures are not tolerated.
End 2: Jasper tries to reason with Yellow Diamond, then tries to fight her to no avail. On the ground, Yellow Diamond pressing her boot on Jasper’s face until we see a poof…. she lifts her boot only to reveal Jasper’s gem shards shattered on the ground.
It is unlikely Steven will receive any serious injury, perhaps a scare or something from Yellow Diamond.
And With no further info on Centipettle that isnt Speculation, we can not make a valid hypothesis on her dealings with Yellow Diamond.
