We have yet to meet any known gems that weren't grown in the ground. Yes, so far we only know quartz soldiers actually came from Earth, but we haven't really been shown how pearls, sapphires, rubies, or even diamonds are created. So, has Pink Diamond's origin been staring us in the face for awhile?
