Welcome back to that weekly article that looks into the other roles of the voice actors in Steven Universe, it's "Hey, It's That Voice!" Today, we are looking at the voice behind Beach City's favorite stage actor and mailman, Jamie!
Jamie is a very nice guy, the kind of person you want delivering your mail. But, of course, we know his true passion, and that is for the stage (both on and behind when it comes to the technical stand point). He's dramatic and poetic, particularly when he is smitten by Cupid's arrow. But who voice's this man of many talents? Why, that would be Eugune Cordero!
Jump! Jump with Jamie! |
Born in Detroit, Michigan, Eugune Cordero started his acting career at the Los Angeles Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, where he can still be seen preforming every Monday as a member of The Smokes. As for him starring on the screen, he made his debut with the Upright Citizens Brigade television series.
His next starring role came years later in 2005 with the television short My Wife, The Ghost. In 2008, he returned television with a small part on sketch comedy show Human Giant. He also has appeared in Bronx World Traveler, Terrible Decisions with Ben Schwartz, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Jon and Car Plus Blanket, When In Rome, The Indigenous Flowers of Southern California, Furry Vengeance, Michael Vartan Has Dorfism, Cordero, Bathtub, and Wolf, Funny or Die Presents, The Office, Mash Up, Worst. Prom. Ever., The World's Worst Bodyguard, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Bachelorette Ashley Is Single Again, Dog DNA, The Back Room, Coffee Snobs, Pro Wrestler Wedding, The Life & Times of Tim, Behind the Binary AllThingsD, A Taste of Magic, Sketchy, Happy Endings, Up All Night, UCB Comedy Originals (acting as writer of a few as well), Afternoon Delight, Newsreaders, Genie on Hard Times with Parker Posey, Maron in Space, Kirsten Lives in Los Angeles, Arrested Development, The State Of Us, CollegeHumor Originals, House of Lies, the reboot of Hawaii Five-0, Silicon Valley, Garfunkel and Oates (along with fellow SU actor Kate Micucci), Key and Peele, Parks and Recreation, Kroll Show, Comedy Bang! Bang!, Rooster Teeth: Entertainment System Originals, The UCB Show, Teachers, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, the 2016 reboot of Ghostbusters, Son of Zorn, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, The Good Place, and will have a role in the upcoming film Kong: Skull Island.
For me, there is one role that I really took note of when I saw Eugune Cordero was in Drunk History. In the episode entitled "Hawaii", Cordero played the role of King Kalani'opu'u.

And that will be it for this edition of "Hey, It's That Voice!" Join me next time when we look at the voice behind the biggest teenaged ego in Beach City!
