This was a great episode, with great character development. But not development for Steven, development for the Crystal Gems. They all admit they don't know how to raise a child, and how broken the team feels without Rose. It was always obvious the gems weren't perfect parents to Steven, but they've always tried their best. Still, this episodes shows that they still have a lot of doubt in themselves, kind of like a lot of first time parents.
