Steven Universe Gathering at Emerald City Comicon

Hey all! Little Ursa here to share with everyone the cosplay gathering for Emerald City Comicon! Taking place at the Washington State Convention Center, Emerald City Comicon is having it's 15th year and, just like most conventions, there will be a Steven Universe gathering! It will be taking place Sunday at 1 PM outside the second floor cafeteria (weather permitting, location may change due to rain). Spread the word to anyone you know going! I know I will be there!

Speaking of, the gems never did say what they needed the Time Thing for. I wonder if that will ever come up in the series again. Steven Universe Is the Show Your Kids Should Be Watching

All of us who watch SU know what a positive impact it can have. Not just in the lives of those who watch, but in helping us all better understand each other. It has such positive messages about acceptance and celebrating the things that make us all unique. Its characters often reject traditional gender roles, and many times struggles with situations that we ourselves have experienced. It's so human, and yet, the songs and silly antics help keep the magic of cartoons alive. And its release seems like it couldn't come at a better time. Creative freedom is awarded to Sugar and the Crewniverse, to tell the stories they want to. And the Crew puts so much work into this series, telling their own stories in a way that makes the characters and events that much more real. sheknows.com put out a really great article about the show, and it's definitely worth a read!

New Crystal Gems. Looks like the Crystal Gems are on a recruitment drive! Not only did they recruit Connie, Peridot, Lapis, and Pumpkin, but they also (temporarily) recruited Bloodstone! It's open enrollment in the temple as long as you can convince Steven you want in, and can convince Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl that you want in for the right reasons. Do you think any other citizens of Beach City and the surrounding area would want to become Crystal Gems? Do Dr. or Mr. Maheswaran want to take up arms and defend their planet alongside Connie?
